Grant Azdell '89, Chaplain of LC, heading to Ashland, Va. for new job
Thursday 5/22/2008
It is with profound regret that I announce that Grant Azdell '89, associate vice president for student development and dean of religious life, has submitted his resignation from Lynchburg College, effective August 1, 2008 to accept an appointment as dean of students at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va.

A 1989 graduate of Lynchburg College, Grant joined the College staff in 1998 as chaplain and has seen his duties evolve and expand in recent years.  He has been dedicated and tireless in his service to the campus, the larger community, and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  He has counseled countless faculty, staff, and students and involved himself in every facet of campus life.  By demonstrating that one person can truly make a difference, Grant is a role model for the entire campus community.

An announcement will be made later about a public celebration of Grant’s many accomplishments and contributions during his tenure at Lynchburg College.  In the meantime, please take the opportunity to let Grant know how much he and his work here are appreciated and to wish him well in his new position.

Kenneth R. Garren
President
